Psychotherapy for Children (6–12 years)

Supporting children’s emotional and psychological well-being is paramount. My approach helps young clients build healthy coping mechanisms, process difficult emotions, and improve communication skills.

Psychotherapy for Adolescents (13–18 years)

Adolescence is a time of significant change. I provide a safe space for adolescents to explore their thoughts and feelings, develop coping strategies, and address challenges such as academic stress, peer pressure, and family conflicts.

Individual Psychotherapy for Adults

Adults face a unique range of stressors – from workplace pressures to personal challenges. I provide individual psychotherapy to help clients manage stress, work through past experiences, and develop healthier coping strategies.

Frequent questions

The number of sessions is dependent on several factors including your specific concerns, goals, the type of therapy and how you respond to treatment. Some clients see improvement in short-term therapy (6 to 12 sessions) and others require long-term therapy (several months or years).

During the initial assessment sessions, we can identify your needs and tailor a treatment plan. Therapy is flexible and we can regularly check in to see your progress and adjust the therapy as needed.

How often you attend therapy is dependent on your individual needs, goals and type of therapy you are engaging in.

  • Weekly sessions (most common) provide consistency and momentum for processing emotions, building skills and working through deeper issues.
  • Biweekly sessions can work for those who require time in between sessions to practice strategies.
  • Monthly or as required might be useful for maintenance, ongoing support or after completing more intensive therapy.

It is helpful to reflect on your goals or intentions for therapy. You do not need to have a perfect answer – therapy is a place to explore. The therapist will guide you throughout the process and provide you with tasks to fulfill during the therapy.

Yes, according to the National Health Act No 61. of 2003 it states that all clients have the right to confidentiality. There are circumstances where a therapist is advised to divulge confidential information for example in circumstances where the client is of harm to themselves or others, with the express consent of a client, with written consent of a parent or guardian of a minor under the age of 12 years, in the public interest, and at the instruction of the court.

Yes, there is however, this option is limited to adult psychotherapy and in specific circumstances psychotherapy for adolescents. I use Google Meets, and Zoom to conduct sessions, which will follow the same process as described on my website.

Billings & Medical Aid

I work with specific medical aids to help make therapy accessible. I can provide detailed information on how to claim back costs from your medical aid, and in certain circumstances, I may submit claims on your behalf.
